The Small House
The Small House | Massachusetts (2017-20)
Starting from a single boulder on the hillside, this project evolved into a 6,000-square-foot custom residence designed to fully embrace the property’s natural topography and panoramic south-facing views over 60 miles toward Connecticut. The architectural concept prioritizes solar exposure, long-range vistas, and a seamless connection between indoor and outdoor spaces while maintaining harmony with the surrounding landscape.
The residence program includes four bedrooms, three bathrooms, a spacious living room, an open living kitchen, and a wellness-focused attic spa . The fully finished basement accommodates a home theater, fitness and sports storage spaces, while a detached garage is linked to the main house via a light-filled greenhouse, creating a transitional indoor-outdoor environment and year-round growing space.
Materials were carefully selected to balance warmth, durability, and craftsmanship, with Italian tile, natural finishes, and custom detailed interior elements complementing the contemporary architectural language.
SERVICE RENDERED : From initial concept through permitting, construction documentation, and coordination, delivering a home defined by performance, clarity, and extraordinary spatial experience.
